2SLGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy That
Meets You Where You Are

You deserve a therapist who sees, affirms, and celebrates your identity. Our trauma-trained team provides inclusive, neuroaffirming therapy for queer, trans, and 2SLGBTQIA+ clients across Canada.

Our 2SLGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy Approach

01

Does this sound like you?

  • Searching for a therapist who won’t question or minimize your identity

  • Wanting a safe space to process trauma, relationships, or self-discovery

  • Navigating coming out, transition, or family/cultural expectations

  • Feeling isolated or misunderstood in your community or workplace

  • Wanting to explore identity, relationships, or self-worth without judgment

If this feels familiar, affirming therapy can give you the support and safety you deserve.

03

Our Approach to 2SLGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy

We’ll work together to:

  • Process trauma, discrimination, or minority stress in safe ways

  • Explore identity and self-discovery without pressure or judgment

  • Strengthen self-esteem and self-compassion

  • Support relationships, families, or partners through affirming care

  • Navigate life transitions (coming out, transition, parenthood, separation, etc.) with confidence

05

What to Expect

In your first session we'll:

  1. Get to know you and your goals for therapy

  2. Explore what safety and affirmation look like for you

  3. Begin building tools and strategies to support your well-being

You’ll leave knowing you’re in a space where your identity is respected and celebrated.

02

Why 2SLGBTQIA+ Therapy Is Different

Too often, 2SLGBTQIA+ clients face harm in therapy, from microaggressions to outright invalidation. Affirming therapy means creating space where your identity is never questioned and your lived experience is honoured.

At Fika, we don’t just “tolerate," we walk alongside you. Therapy with us means your whole self is welcome, affirmed, and supported.

04

Modalities We Use

EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, ACT, DBT skills, Polyvagal-informed therapy, mindfulness, expressive arts, breathwork, Narrative Therapy, IFS and parts work (ego states), and attachment-focused care.

Your therapist will let you know what they draw from.

06

In tribute and acknowledgement to Canada's Indigenous Peoples, we recognize and acknowledge their deep connection to the land, spanning First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities across nationally held Treaties. Despite colonization's impact, we commit to education and work to increase access to culturally appropriate care.
