Where Low Confidence Comes From

Self-esteem challenges don’t appear out of nowhere. They often come from:

  • Childhood experiences, criticism, or lack of support

  • Trauma, bullying, or toxic relationships that made you doubt your worth

  • Perfectionism and people-pleasing patterns

  • Living with ADHD, anxiety, or depression that impacts confidence

At Fika, we understand self-esteem not as a “personality flaw,” but as the result of lived experiences that can be unlearned and healed.

Modalities We Use

EMDR, ACT, Polyvagal-informed therapy, mindfulness, expressive arts, breathwork, attachment based, CBT, DBT skills, self-compassion approaches, and IFS and parts work (ego states).

We are available to meet virtually with individuals in the province of Ontario, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, British Columbia, Manitoba and Alberta for counselling therapy at this time. Please note, this is clinician dependent.
